Karate South Australia (Karate SA) is the official state governing body for karate in South Australia, proudly operating under the Australian Karate Federation (AKF)—the nationally recognised authority since 1970. Founded in 1972, Karate SA has been at the forefront of promoting excellence, inclusivity, and tradition in karate across the state.
As a member of the World Karate Federation (WKF), Karate SA is aligned with global standards and is officially recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Olympic Committee. This affiliation ensures that our athletes, coaches, and officials meet the highest levels of accreditation and performance.
